KATLYN EVANS / VOCALS, GUITAR Katlyn was born into a musical family, and showed interest in music around age 10, first asking first for a drum kit, and then an electric guitar. She learned a lot of guitar tunes, including some finger-style songs by her hero Andy McKee, but was shy about playing them in front of a crowd (and still is). The first time she ever sang for anyone was at age 23, on a dare, at an open mic.  Music is a hobby for her. She doesn't mind the money of course, but plays for the pure joy of making music, and has been known to forget to ask for the check. She owns a media company called Red Eye Media, LLC that offers design, video, and photo services and spends most of her time working on projects for clients and traveling for jobs. She's an entrepreneur with a mind for business, and enjoys reading Fast Company Magazine, Business Insider, and networking. She's also a fine artist, and loves working out - either at the gym, or cycling. She wishes she was a NASCAR driver and wants to produce and direct a Super Bowl commercial someday. JESSE STIGLICH / DRUMS, BACKING VOCALS Jesse got into music at age 7 when he started taking piano lessons from his grandfather. Throughout his childhood, he was brought up on rock music, listening to anything from Led Zeppelin to Nirvana to Pink Floyd. He got his first drum set at age 12 and started jamming around with his cousin in his basement, and everything took off from there. Jesse played in a bunch of different bands throughout middle school and high school, playing all over the South Shore. He went on to pursue music at UMass Lowell, where he majored in Music Performance and Music Business with an emphasis in percussion. Jesse got exposed to a lot of different music and styles of playing while at college and got to study with great percussionists such as Jeff Fischer (Boston Ballet), Fred Buda (Boston Pops) and more. Since graduating in 2014, Jesse has used the skills he harnessed at UML and put them to use in a lot of different musical settings. He can be found playing not only with Red Evans Band, but also teaching lessons throughout New England and playing in various pit orchestras, symphony orchestras, jazz bands, and other bands.

ANDREW GRANDAHL / BASS, BACKING VOCALS

At age 7, Andrew’s dad showed him how to use his record player and gave him several Beatles albums to play on it, sending his son down a lifelong journey of being virtually obsessed with music and the different worlds it contains. At age 10, Andrew began studying upright bass at his elementary school, and a year later picked up the bass guitar. He studied electric bass with Dezron Douglas, and at age 15 started taking private upright bass lessons with Domenick Fiore and later with Robert Black. His junior year of high school, Andrew attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts to deepen his knowledge of Jazz performance. He studied Classical bass performance at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and The Glenn Gould School in Toronto, where he studied with Jame VanDemark and Jeffrey Beecher, respectfully.

A severe tendinitis injury forced Andrew to take time off from school and from playing music for several years. During his performing hiatus, he became fascinated in yoga, meditation, and in studying fields such as Evolutionary Biology, Climatology, Paleoanthropology and Psychology. He is grateful to be tendinitis-free and to be rocking out with Redevans!

Andrew is also a talented writer — Check out his writing for the blog at climable.org!
